Four focus areas

Where the council concentrates its work

These are not separate sectors. They are part of a regional system that requires coordination to scale. Manufacturing needs technology and workforce. Defense overlaps with cybersecurity and federal pipelines. Biomed connects to research and health systems. Applied technology enables all of the above.

How it connects

Four sectors. One regional economy.

San Antonio's industries do not operate in isolation. Each sector depends on and strengthens the others. The Council exists to make those connections deliberate, structured, and productive.

Manufacturing needs technology and workforce. AI, automation, and talent pipelines from local universities directly determine whether manufacturers can scale.
Defense drives cybersecurity and federal pipelines. Military installations and federal contractors create procurement opportunities that flow into manufacturing and technology companies.
Biomedical connects to research and health systems. University research, hospital networks, and bioscience companies form an ecosystem that attracts investment and talent.
Applied technology enables everything above. Data systems, smart infrastructure, and workforce development tie the other three sectors together and determine the region's long-term competitiveness.
